MY STORY
I am a runner, and my love and hate relationship with running shoes is constantly evolving. I started running in traditional running shoes like every normal person, but this put me in trouble after a while. I started to get injuries, but everyone around me explained that it is normal for a runner to get injured regularly. It is natural, they said.
But is it indeed natural for a human being not to be able to run freely and without injuries? These doubts propelled me to find out a completely new world of the BAREFOOT RUNNING. If you think about it, our ancestors ran around a lot, and they mostly did it barefoot. If they would have been injured all the time, none of us would have been born. The human race is actually very adapted to running long distances very efficiently. We are quite naturally born to run.
My story is devoted to the research of the very wide topic of the health of the foot and lower leg so that everyone can benefit from that knowledge.
WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
So what sets apart modern humans from those running around a couple of hundreds of thousands of years ago? The footwear. Our modern running shoe is stuffed with technology that supposedly helps us run better and stay away from injuries, but the studies have shown that often the opposite is true – barefoot runners have a more efficient running technique, and they become injured less often.
It is painful for me to look around and see people everywhere that still don’t know what to do to be healthy. Of course, the health of the feet and the lower legs are just the beginning when thinking of healthy living in general, but it’s a good starting point. My vocation is to bring the knowledge I’ve obtained during the last 10+ years to the wide audience of everyone to whom it might relate – not only runners but also people who are on their feet otherwise. If you have functioning feet, you need to be informed about the feet health. My job is to provide that information for you.
THE GOAL OF THIS SITE
Of course, it is not always possible to run around barefoot in modern society. So what to do if we want to stay healthy while running or even just walking around? The answer is MINIMALIST SHOES. These are the shoes that provide only the very basic protection from the elements of nature but which does not contain all the sophisticated technology found in the traditional running shoes. The minimalist shoes let our feet do the job nature has intended. They do not block our nerve receptors, they do not weaken the arch of the foot, they do not let the muscles and ligaments of the foot to atrophy. The idea behind the minimalist footwear is to let your feet work naturally while doing your everyday business so that you do not even have to train your feet deliberately. Regardless of what you’re doing – running, walking around or just standing still, the tiny muscles of your feet will work out without you even noticing it. In the long term, it sets you apart from the typical injuries of the modern human, and lets you live a healthy life!
The purpose of this site is also to inform you about the benefits of minimalist footwear so that you too can not think about the problems of your health, but instead live your life to its full potential.
